Colombia Project

Colombia Project
My focus these past few years has shifted to philanthropy and working on eye projects in Colombia and the Amazon for Medical Ministry International. January 2013 will find me continuing to follow the stories and the patients that have received treatment to show how life changing these procedures have been. One such story is Leslie, a two year old born with congenital cataracts. When she arrived at the clinic, she was nearly blind, but after two surgeries where lenses were implanted, she left with the possibility of sight in her future.

Nearly 6000 patients have been seen in each of the two week projects in which I have participated. Each project carries unique success stories and many have asked how you can help so MMI has these types of photographic essays available for future fundraising. Similar to a kickstarter program, I am now offering that possibility as a win-win for us all.

Anyone wishing to help can donate through MMI a 501c3 corporation and designate the funds to the Elizabeth Opalenik Colombia Project. Along with my gratitude, you will also receive a tax deduction from MMI and if you let me know of your donation, I will send you a thank you gift that matches your funding. These gifts range from copies of my monograph "Poetic Grace" ($50) to copies of the book with a print ($150) or prints from other series ($250-$1000). Please inquire. It is also possible to donate directly to eopalenik@mac.com through Paypal. I cannot give you the tax deduction, but all else applies.
